Coach's Profiles

Harry T. Maybee, Jr. – Program Director
Although Harry is a New Hampshire native, he comes to the Bretton Woods Ski Team from Glenwood Springs, Colorado, where he had been the Head Coach and Program Director of the Sunlight Ski Team Educational Foundation and the Director of Racing at the Colorado Rocky Mountain School for the last 15 years. Prior to his coaching in Colorado, he was the Head Coach and Program Director of the Franconia Ski Club, Franconia, NH. He also has coaching experience as Head Coach of Ski Valley Christmas Camp, Crotched Mountain Ski Club, Greek Peak Christmas Camp and the WVA Summer Race Camp in Hintertux, Austria. During his college career, Harry was a four-year member of the University of New Hampshire at Plymouth Ski Team. He was also a member of the NEISC All Conference Team. Harry has a long history in ski racing in New Hampshire where he competed for a number of years in USSA FIS races as a Class A racer. In 1991, he was inducted into the Plymouth State University Ski Hall of Fame. In addition, Harry was a member of the NCSA National Champions Team, a top finisher in the Masters National Challenge and spent 2 years on the New England Pro Tour. He is also an accomplished tennis player and cyclist.

Ryan Boissonault
Born and raised in Sugar Hill, NH, Ryan is an accomplished racer and coach. He is a graduate of the White Mountain School, and Plymouth State University where he was an All-American racer from 1993-1996. He continues to coach part-time at the Franconia Ski Club, and is the owner of Fall Line Painting in Landaff, NH, where he resides with his wife and daughter.

Bruce McLaren
Bruce is a returning member of the BWST staff having coached and directed the program in 1994-1995. He brings to the team an additional 8 years of ski coaching and outdoor adventure leadership in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He raced and trained at Franconia Ski Club under the leadership of the team’s current program director from 1984-87. Bruce is a 1991 graduate of Brandeis University, where he was an All-Conference college soccer player. Bruce is currently the Director of the North Country Boys & Girls Club in Littleton, a chapter he founded in 2004. He resides in Littleton with his wife and daughter.


Erik Swanson
Erik is a new member of the BWST coaching staff. He is a graduate of Plymouth State College, and was a member of its national championship ski team in 1985. His accomplishments were recognized with his being inducted into the college’s athletic hall of fame in 1985. Erik has continued to coach since graduating, with positions including assistant head coach at the Franconia Ski Club, head men’s coach at the Holderness School, and Alpine Program Coordinator at Carrabasset Valley Academy, as well as part-time coaching at the WVBBTS/Holderness programs. Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, Erik currently lives in Middletown, RI., where he is a Regional Manager for Pease & Curren, Inc., a precious metals manufacturing and trading company. He is looking forward to getting his 3 ½ year old daughter ‘Tatum’ skiing this season.


Tanner Crowe
Tanner Crowe is a computer networking student at Champlain College in Burlington, VT. He is from Littleton, NH where he raced for two years with the Bretton Woods Ski Team, and spent another year racing with the Franconia Ski Club. He was an accomplished racer as a high school student in Littleton, and was the Captain of his team for two consecutive years. Besides his passion for skiing, Tanner enjoys hiking, biking, Frisbee and many other sports.

Tiffany Ogburn-Beers
Tiffany Ogburn-Beers is in her second year of coaching at Bretton Woods. Born and raised in Franconia, she raced for both FSC and Profile, with Harry as one of her coaches. Tiffany also raced and coached at a small ski area in Northern New Jersey. After many years of pursuing the culinary field, in the Boston area, Tiffany has returned to NH with her husband and their daughter.

Jill Newell
Jill is a student at Lynden State and has taught skiing at Bretton Woods.

Jeffrey Bratz
Jeff, a long time resident of the New Hampshire North Country. He graduated from Littleton High School in 1989, and competed with the Franconia Ski Club throughout his youth. He captained the Littleton Ski team from his sophomore through his senior years and placed second in both slalom and giant slalom in the 1989 Div, 4 State Championships. In 1993 Jeff Graduated from St. Lawrence University, Canton, NY with a BA in English, and then in 2002 from the New England Culinary Institute, Montpelier, VT with an A.O.S in culinary arts. He and his wife, Jeanne, recently relocated from NYC, where Jeff was Executive Chef for Whose Catering, specializing in concert, event and festival catering. He and Jeanne avidly enjoy hiking, biking, tennis and the quality of life that New Hampshire offers.
